When I started this challenge, I had plans to try out all kinds of (new) techniques. My head was full of ideas and I couldn't wait to get started.
And now .... I'm having artist's block ..... I don't know anymore what I wanted to do, I can't find any inspiration, I get stuck in everything I try, hell, I don't even know how to paint anymore! At least, that's how it feels. I've been struggling with the simplest things and getting quite frustrated in the process.
Great timing, right? Just when I need to produce something every day ... I really hope tomorrow will be better. For today, one of my trials is a girl in my journal. What I like most about it is the background ... ☺
Here she is, face no. 4:
Thank you so much for visiting and leaving those wonderful comments. I'm off now to visit as many of you as possible! See you tomorrow with face no.5!
Dear Denthe,
ReplyDeleteoh, I know your thoughts so good. And your face # 4 is so lovely. Be nice to yourself!
and have a great time!
Hugs and :)
Erika
Amazing. I love the background too! Your mojo will come back. Sometimes it just needs a little break.
ReplyDeleteFace No. 5 has a look of concern on her face, she seems to be reflecting what you are thinking. I am sure she is also thinking that an idea maybe be lurking just outside your window or is just a doodle away! Cheers, an idea will come to you...
ReplyDeleteTot morgen!!
Liefs,
Marianne
oh, your faces are glorious! great 'hairstyle' treatment on this one, but love the whole thing. The background coming through the facial features is awesome...

Sorry you are getting so frustrated.. maybe do a different style? or just a sketch? Not sure how this comment will so.. this is Rachel Biddlecome in the 29 faces challenge with you. I am Rivergallery at Ebay so this is an older acct.
ReplyDeleteHa Denthe I know it isn´t easy to paint a face everyday ;) but you are brave and jump right in that challenge! I love your face and her hair, she looks very interesting and magic ♥ hope your muse comes back soon!
ReplyDeleteI have had the same problem - and usually when I have set myself a challenge like this! I love this face she is simply gorgeous. I find justbputting paint to paper, even if I hate the result, helps me work through any blocks!
ReplyDeleteI like her alot!!! I can however relate to your block!!! I've been experiencing that for seeks now and it's getting rather annoying. Hoping this challenge will wake me and you up :0)
ReplyDeleteLove her hair and eyes. It sometimes seems that when we set ourselves a challenge the block comes. I have that experience, when it happens I just draw. So now you know when I get a block! The pencils come out.
ReplyDeleteEven when stuck you deliver sweets! She is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAgree with Lime Tree above, sweet as candy!
ReplyDeleteShe's just beautiful. Love how you incorporated the background.
ReplyDeleteisnt it funny that we get so out of practise so quickly and I think that's all it is , practise practise practise and before you know it your mojo has returned...im so out of it all too and would've loved to have joined this, maybe next week .......love your face, so full of color and life xxx
ReplyDeletedon't be too hard on yourself. your work is always so beautiful and this is no exception. i sometimes think it can be the whole notion of committing to a 'challenge' that can make us suddenly go blank. i'm doing the 75 day sketch chalkenge and trying to incorporate the 29 faces too and although i'm enjoying it, it is a bit daunting!
