Felt like doing a whimsical art journal page today. Although I need to learn to get my pagebackground ready before I start drawing, because I find it very hard to make a nice background after I paint a girl on it. So I went with the dots again ...;-)
I used some watersoluble Neocolors on there, but I guess not all of it dissolved, since almost none of my markers wanted to work on top of some parts. I know a lot of art journalers use Neocolors in their journals, and markers on top, so I'm kind of wondering which markers do you use? I'm afraid of ruining my "good" (read "expensive"...) markers....
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back in a few days with another inspiring artist!
This is beautiful Denthe... and I love the dots...

Beautiful work, x
ReplyDeleteWonderful, happy page...I actually feel like this today too! I have a lot of trouble with ruining markers on top of paint, gesso...I seem to go back to Sharpie fine point pens...
ReplyDeleteWell, I really like this background. I love dots! She's such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteI love this page, so soulful. Do you like the watersoluble Neocolors? I have seen them before but am afraid I might have a hard time with it.
ReplyDeleteGreat page, the dots give a wonderful magical feel to it. I use Neocolor II's a lot and the only pens that are up to the job are my POSCA water based paint pens. They work every time and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!
ReplyDeleteI used POSCA pens in my Limited Edition Sketchbook, and that was over Neocolor II's on every page,

The ebay link is just to show the pens I mean....

ps My Sharpie's can't cope at all!
Thanks so much Joanna. That's my experience too with the Sharpies. And Posca's are my all time favorites!
DeleteYour page looks great! I am not the person to ask about ruining markers, since I manage to do it all the time...
