I did manage a new map face. With a poem from one of my favorite authors Warsan Shire, that I've used a few times in my art already, but I never tire of it and it expresses so beautifully (and achingly) the state of the world today. Here it is:
I did paint two more birds on my painting:
Now the only thing I need to figure out is how to finish it ....
I told you last week that I made a present for friends of mine that were getting married. We went to the bridal party last weekend, so I can show you now what I made :-)
I should've made a picture of the rock in my hand, because it was really big, bigger than my hand. But this is the only picture I have.
I'm going to link this to Paint Party Friday tomorrow. Now it's off to bed, since it's after midnight already. But first it's time for some funnies :-)
And the ones to think about ....
Thanks so much for your visit! Wishing you lots of plain old fun today, and a wonderful loving weekend! See you next week ♥ ♥ ♥
I really like this map face. The red lines run perfectly through her eyes. What a very special gift for your friends. They will cherish it forever.

Happy PPF xx
Super art, love the cat peeking out of that bag...very funny!
ReplyDeleteVery powerful and you are right the earth is in pain as are all the living creatures on it ... except the billionairs who don't give a damn about the rest. I do enjoy your blog so much, maybe because we are, in many ways, like minded. Thank you for reminding us all of our responsibility for our earth and human kind. They surely did elect a clown and this is the ugliest circus I have ever attended. :)

Your map face is gorgeous and expresses how most of us feel. The decorated rock is absolutely fabulous. What an awesome gift for your friend!
ReplyDeletechildren will indeed play with anyone no matter skin colour or sexual orientation, its only learned behavior from people around them that makes them think otherwise, and thats really sad :(
ReplyDeleteyou still managed to create some nice things and the birds look nice on your painting :)
Your paintings are beautiful and I love the idea of the rocks. My little sissy is getting married in a few months and I think I want to do something like that with a rock. We all love rocks so it would be perfect. Your Funnies are GREAT!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see where your painting is going to go. The colours are so captivating!
ReplyDeleteFunny funnies at the bottom of your post.
ahhh What a great post! I love your map faces and the quotes and sentiments you leave on them truly relevant to our world. I think you need to combine all of these and have them published as a journal book for generations to come. To show others about empathy and compassion and love of others. those are my thoughts at least! ")
ReplyDeleteLove your funnies as always!
and the beautiful rock you present to your frend is just lovely and so thoughtful!
huge hugs,Jackie xx
Hope you get unstuck soon. Funny about the gardening in winter. We had snow yesterday so I can relate.
ReplyDeleteI love the wedding gift for your friends! I see the current painting evolving with 2 lovely new birds. I had a rather slow week this past week too. Today, we had wonderful summer sunshine...I enjoyed a walk to the park! Happy PPF.

ReplyDeleteYour map face is great and I love the BIG ROCK!!! Your WIP is stunning and I know you'll figure it all out sooner rather than later. I have a background done that is waiting for a painting... if I wasn't spending so much time outside I might have had it done this week :)
