too busy ....

I almost didn't write a blogpost today. Not much to show and it's already time for bed. To think that last week I thought my painting would be finished today .... Hmm, that was rather a case of wishful thinking. I did work on my painting, but then I wanted to go into another direction with it and changed some things, and in the end, you wouldn't really notice much difference from what I showed last week. So, I'll just keep working on it and I'll show it when it's ready :-)

I did finish my map face(s)! Here it is:

And that's it for this week! After last week's market I decided to quit doing markets. It's just not worth the time and effort. I found a shop that's willing to sell my market-items (boxes and rocks mostly). and I've been busy this week with getting everything sorted out, making inventories, pricing everything etc... This weekend I will bring everything to the shop, and then I will start concentrating on painting and mosaics. Looking forward to that!

I do have some funnies for you :-)

A beautiful one for earth day (I don't know the artist, just saw it on Facebook...)

And the ones to think about:

Thanks for your visit! I'm linking to Paint Party Friday, as usual. Have a happy day, and a beautiful relaxing weekend. See you next week ♥ ♥ ♥

  4. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who makes changes to paintings over and over. I noticed this when I looked at a recent time lapse I made - I paint and repaint and repaint until I get it right. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished painting - I love all your various styles of art but those are my favourites. Your map pieces are wonderful too though and definitely tie in with Giggles' post today.
That's a shame about the markets but I totally agree, I did about three art fairs/markets before I realised it was a lot of preparation and work for very little return and I absolutely hated sitting there as people came up to my stall never knowing whether to let them browse or engage them in conversation - it's awkward and why I so much prefer selling online!! Congrats on the shop - that's the perfect solution!
You and I clearly share the same sense of humour as I always get a laugh at the funnies your post at the end of your blog.

  5. I very nearly didn't write a post today either, but for different reasons. Your map face is wonderful, however, and it's good to know I'm not the only one who gets stuck.

  12. Beautiful map girl...I was here last night and had to leave without commenting. You are not alone on doing markets. Many friends have felt very little return for the work it takes to do a market, to the point of frustration! So that's probably the right choice for you! So glad you found a store to take your gorgeous rocks. I hope you can find a few more places too! Your funnies are always a joy to read and a nice way to finish up your posts! Love them!! Happy creating!!

    Hugs Giggles

  13. Of course I really like the vibrant colours of your map girl, but what I really like is how you integrate the quote so well around the figures! Beautiful lettering, Denise.

Art shows ARE a lot of work. I did them for most of my life. I no longer do.
