Trying to be zen

The comments on last week's post offered me a great way to look at things differently, and while I'm still having a hard time with it, I'm learning to be content with what I was able to do, and not get so frustrated when I can't do everything I want to. So thanks all of you who gave me your thoughts and advice :-)

I played in my art journal this week. Guess I needed a break from the doodling ;-) Plus I'm thinking about participating in Inktober, and this is a bit of a practice start. Although I already know I won't be able to make an elaborate drawing each day, but that doesn't matter, I don't want to stress about it.

I also finished another mapface. I hope I'll be able to get enough of these done for a new calendar.
We'll see ....

And here are my weekly funnies and thinkies :-)

Linking to Paint Party Friday tomorrow! Thanks for your visit. I hope you'll all have a great day.
Take care and see you next week ♥ ♥ ♥

  10. OH!!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you do get enough map art done for a calendar. I love the one I have ♥ This weeks art is great and some of those quotes are too good.
    Have a great weekend!

  11. Were you referring to the not being able to draw every day? You know, this is my full time job, but life sometimes rears up in your face and you know what? Everything else has to get done too. But you know, I think it's important to count the work you do in your head too. Maybe there isn't something to instantly show for it, but that thinking and planning and imagining is just as important as the physical results. It ALL counts.

I'll bet you thought about all sorts of your art and ideas, even if you couldn't get to them... and if you were thinking on them, you actually DID art that day. Personally, I think half or more of art actually happens in your head. People don't just sit down and bang out a masterpiece, or even a good doodle. Give yourself the credit you deserve! I think you're doing great!

  12. Excellent post Denise! Already I feel less stressed and it was you who was trying to do the same! lol
Stop putting so much pressure on yourself and remember why you create art- because you love it,right?
Hope your week is beautiful dear friend!
