Thanks for all your suggestions last week! Most of you suggested working with dark and light instead of stark black lines, and I must say it feels much more me. That's often the problem when you're inspired by another artist and need to make it your own. It sometimes takes a few try-outs and frustrations before you get it the way it feels right. I find it much easier now to work on it, I don't really need to think about it anymore.
Because I really like this technique I also started two very similar canvases. These are to experiment a bit more, my artjournal turned out a bit too small for what I want to do :-)
Still in the early stages, but the colours cheer me up, which is something I've been in need of this week, what with all the horror happening in the world, all the hate too many people feel, all this fighting and yelling and shooting and stabbing. I'm sick of it. So I take refuge in my paint....
This is all I have to show for now. Still didn't get in the habit of creating every day, and it is not because I don't want to. It's actually quite frustrating that I can't seem to find the time. I wonder how other people do that. If you happen to have a tip, please share!
I'm sharing this with the good old Paint Party Friday, the weekly bloghop that I don't get tired of :-)
But before I end, here are my funnies for this week:
:-D
Thanks so much for your visit! Wishing you days filled with love and compassion ♥ ♥ ♥
I like what you're doing with your bathroom! (LOL'd for real at the 'inner peace' funny! Thanks for the laugh!)
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom is wonderful! The world is really crazy just now, sad, mad and bad. I try to leave out things that would take up my time, like housew***, ironing etc, and use the time for art! Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! I didn't realise you were painting over the tiles! What sort of paint is it. Your transformation is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! These are not tiles, bit a kind of bricks, and I'm just using regular wall paint for this. For bringing out the figures I use my acrylics, because I have much more choice in colours there. So when will you start collaging your bathroom? ;-)
DeleteI LOVE what you have so far...amazing, stunning and totally you! Those canvases would compliment that powder room so much on a plain wall or hallway outside the room! Can't wait to see how they turn out! Great funnies too!
ReplyDeleteHugs Giggles
Your bathroom is going to be such a masterpiece! I like what you're doing with the canvasses and it'll be interesting to see how they turn out. I agree the world is a very dark place these days and just seems to be getting worse. All we can do is keep painting it in rainbow colours. xx

Wow! Love what you're doing with your bathroom. I don't think I would have the guts or the patience to do it. :)
ReplyDeleteYour art makes just happy-- those bathroom will be UNIQUE!!!
ReplyDeletePainting the walls in your bathroom! - it looks terrific. I think our (your) own style will always come through. As for creating every day, I have no idea how people manage it, no idea at all, sometimes there doesn't seem to be an "every day" available.
ReplyDeleteA real paint party is going on in your bathroom :) I get so excited with big painting projects. I am sure your bath will be great.
ReplyDeleteyour bathroom is a big project, talk about a large canvas. I bet it will come together in a way that you love!
