Never mind. I soon found new ones. And started bringing them out. Oh, it was so much fun finally getting somewhere with this canvas. Seeing images appear and bringing them out is my most favorite part of this intuitive painting process. Here are 2 sneak peeks:
At first, these figures and one bird were the only images I saw, so I decided to just start with them and see how it developed.
And then I started seeing birds everywhere.....
Here's how the canvas looked when I started bringing the images out. Can you find them on there? (okay, it's bad quality so it's not very clear, but the weather is just so dark here, it's impossible to get good pictures)
Didn't do anything else creative this week ;-( But I want to tell you (in case you haven't heard about it yet) about a new year long artjournal challenge "Colour me positive". The aim is to fill your year with positive messages and creativity. When you sign up (it's FREE), you get an email every Friday with an inspirational quote and a small challenge, that you can use however you like. Each week there will be a featured artist to inspire you, and sometimes there are prizes to be won too! Sounds good, doesn't it!? You can find more information here. Go ahead: sign up, there are already more than 1000 participants!
I'm linking up to Paint Party Friday. Looking forward to seeing you there! Thanks so much for visiting, I hope your new year started out well and will continue to be good to you!
Here's my funny for this week:
Hahaha! Doesn't that look comfy :-D

ReplyDeleteLOVE these beautiful ladies!!! ♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeletealways wonderful seeing your intuitive paintings unfold.
ReplyDeletei had never heard of this challenge, thank you for sharing it.
wishing you continued fun painting.
They are beautiful, but your eyes are more intuitive than mine are!
ReplyDeleteNice you took a break from the house. I love how you work and then go with what you see. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour painting is coming along well, have fun. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far, and no, I wasn't able to see anything in your canvas. Maybe if I saw it in person it would be easier.
ReplyDeleteI always admire what you can see and bring out of the backgrounds! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing how you manage to create your wonderful art.
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF xx
Super WIPS and love the photo! Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteI love your intuitive process. it helps me remember that what you start with is not always what you end up with. Looking forward to seeing the imagines you finally paint when its completed.
ReplyDeleteI looks like it will be a gorgeous painting when you finish. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteI love this process of yours so much and funny I could see a bird where you've put the large one but with a very different shaped head and beak to the one you've painted - I love that we all see different things. I'll look forward to seeing this one evolve - I'm so glad you're back to painting these as they are my favourite of all your art styles (closely followed by those amazing dot painted tables you do!) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love how you pulled the images out of the painting. Exquisite. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteIt's so fascinating to see how your imagery emerges in your gorgeous backgrounds Denise! Love the funny(that would be me-lol!)
ReplyDeleteI found a worried looking owl with his full feathers, bottom left, a goose in the middle (looking to the right) and a dinosaur on the right - but didn't find yours! What fun these find-an-image paintings are, and things do disappear if you don't catch them quick.
ReplyDeleteI like your bird, he's looking good.
Thanks for the challenge link, will check it out.
A dinosaur ...!?? Haha, isn't it interesting how we see different things :-) I think I can see your owl, but not the goose, and certainly not the dinosaur ;-)
Deletevery interesting your images emerging

Gorgeous artwork, my friend!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous artwork, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your calendar of course. I just love your colors and enjoy seeing how your paintings evolve. But I must confess, I don't see anything in the page that has all the birds??? I guess I have no intuition! Love the pooped out puppy! he worked hard!
ReplyDeleteLove to see how your paintings evolve and how you bring out all the shapes you see. I think I still have to work a bit on that. Maybe there are still too many expectations in my head. Love the shape of that bird! Looking forward to see how it will evolve.
