In the meantime, I'm drawing. I got out my alcohol-markers again. This one is not finished, I want to put text around her and I have some ideas in my head, but I'm not sure how and what yet. So for now I'll just post her like she is now:
And I did another sketch. I want to make one every week this year, although I already missed the first week. So I'll have to make one extra some time. But I like sketching again, and it only requires a sketchbook and my pencil-case. Less hassle than painting ;-)
And that's it for this week! I'm not being very productive at the moment, guess I'm still a bit in holiday mood :-)
So it's time for the funnies:
and the other ones ...
Linking this to Paint Party Friday. Thanks for your visit and your comments! Really appreciate it :-)
Hope you're having a great day! I'll be back next week ♥ ♥ ♥
Hey no need to worry about painting as long as you are creating and you are! These girls are fabulous!!!! Have a great weekend.

Well you may not be painting, but you are still creating art. I feel sure your painting urge will return, but in the meantime keep drawing and sketching. I did not want to paint for a while but then over the last few days the urge came back. I love your marker drawing - sometimes I just love working with markers! The face sketch is gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing your work. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteThe painting will return, your muse is just taking a time out from it. At least that's what I believe. Don't you think we all go through these phases? I mean she is still working with you, creating these gorgeous sketches! I love that first girl, something about her~
ReplyDeleteYour funnies are super and the ones to think about- even greater. Glad to see you still share these...I believe they make others think, who normally would not-
anything in your post lately? ")
love & hugs,Jackie
You're just taking time to recharge and refill that creative well. Don't fight it, enjoy the respite.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you aren't painting but your sketches are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHey, you did get some art done-that's productive no matter how much or how little:) Amazing sketch and hair on that second piece. And again, leaving with a smile:) Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I agree, you got some art done, kept your hand moving. Painting will return in due time!

Lovely girls this week and you're being too hard on yourself! On the other hand, I have found that sometimes you don't remember how much you enjoy painting until you actually force yourself to squeeze out a few colors and sit in front of the canvas. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I say this after four years of procrastination and I totally understand it! But right now I am painting every day whether I like it or not and some days I don't want to but I never regret it once I've started! :)
Thanks for the many smiles! I am sure your "muse" will return soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sketches, thanks for the laughs too.
ReplyDeleteWow. You may not be painting but your drawings are amazing! Your muse hasn't totally disappeared. And nice funnies! Happy weekend. Erika
ReplyDeleteI love to switch up mediums! It refreshes the mind to jump outside the box! You deserve a break! I love the yoga saying! Maybe you just need to smack some people? :) Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteYour drawings are delightful, but your paintings are so colourful and thought provoking....I hope to see more paintings soon!
ReplyDeleteMaybe changing focus from the negative in the world to the positive will inspire you.
Trump is a *&$@ true enough, but fortunately, many people don't agree with him!
The muse has a mind of its own, doesn't it? Little stinker that it is. :) No rhyme, no reason, and there's no arguing with it. Your drawings are gorgeous, so I think there's a reason you don't feel like painting right now. Once you've exhausted what you need to do with the drawings, I'm sure the urge to paint will be back.
ReplyDeleteTake your time! You might not be painting, but you are still creating beautiful art! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour drawings are so beautiful. Don't worry about painting. Maybe this is supposed to be your drawing phase. I don't feel like art period. I sketch and doodle while watching TV or while I'm on the phone, but not much more.
ReplyDeleteYour drawings are wonderful. Great artwork as always. I know what you mean about painting. I'm going through a phase where all I want to do is draw. Guess I'll just have to go with it and see where it leads.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your painting muse just took a little break and will be back. I always have phases where I prefer one technique or medium over another and some weeks later it's the other way around. Your drawings are beautiful, Denise and great picks as always!
ReplyDeleteYour artwork, as always is so very charming. YOu are an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYour girl looks both ready and determined. I'm sure your words will be fitting! I think there is something in the air stunting some creativity. Could be that general worldly political morose happening at the moment. Beautiful sketches! I think it may just be a time for collecting information. ..the painting bug shall strike again!

Sometimes it's not about painting, but just keeping on creating. Seems to me you are doing just that! I have phases I go through where I just can't face my studio, and it doesn't matter what deadlines I have... calculus would be easier! When it's right, it clicks... when it isn't, sometimes walking away is the best artistic choice we can make (just as long as we come back!)
ReplyDeleteYour drawings are excellent! And yes, I agree, sometimes it's not about painting. I already made the same experience several times. You shouldn't worry and your brilliant drawings are worth it!
