Well, if I thought yesterday's painting was small, today's is even smaller .....
I painted another rock, and this must be the smallest one I've done so far.
It's still not quite finished. I always write a quote on the back, stil have to do that, and now I notice I also forgot to put highlights in her eyes. Oh well, I'll finish it and show it at the end of the week when it's time for Paint Party Friday.
See how small it is?
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving your wonderful comments. They keep me going! I'll get back to your blogs tomorrow, because I'm feeling a bit under the weather today and I hope to beat it by going to bed early for a change ....
Linking up to AEDM. Have a look there for all kinds of creative goodness!
I'll be back tomorrow for Day 6! ♥

Art Every Day Month - Day 4
I managed to make a tiny little painting today:
These miniature canvases are 10x10cm (4"x4"), and I always like to make a whole series of them. They have almost sold out in the gallery, and I'm now experimenting with canvasboard, so that I can sell them in my Etsyshop without having to charge ridiculous shippingcosts. They are mixed media, the text is supposed to be shining through the paint, but alas, not this time. Too many layers of paint on there before I was (more or less) satisfied ....
Linking again to AEDM. I must admit this daily posting takes some getting used to ... ;-)
Thanks so much for visiting. I try to visit as many links as possible, but already 243 (yes 243!!) people have signed up, so it's next to impossible to visit everyone, unless I want to spend all day in front of the computer and not make any art. Which is not exactly the purpose of this challenge ..... . I intend however to at least have a look once at all the participants.

Art Every Day Month - Day 3
Still weekend, so still not much chance to do art. So I decided to make some mosaic pieces.
I make my own mosaic pieces, and I'm getting low in some colours. And since I've 3 more mirror bases ready, and also want to start on some figures, I really need some new pieces.
Usually it's fun to do, albeit time-consuming .... But not today. Time-consuming: yes, fun: NO. I had bought a different kind of clay and it was hell to work with. Crumbling, hard, very difficult to get smooth and soft. My hands still hurt ....
So I ended up not doing as many as I would've liked. Oh well, lesson learned: stick to the one you're happy with ....
I hope I'll get some painting done tomorrow. My hands are starting to itch ... :-)
Thanks for visiting and leaving comments! I love reading your thoughts.

Art Every Day Month - Day 2
Only the second day, and I'm in trouble already .... The weekend is always a bit hard for me to make art. Too many other things to do.
So I made it easy for myself and finished a one-line-doodle that I'd started before.
Just start in one corner and keep going in one line until the whole page is covered. It's a fun thing to do when you're short on time.
Thanks for taking a look, and also for leaving so many wonderful comments on my last post. I truly appreciate it! I'll be back tomorrow! ♥

Art Every Day Month Day 1
Well, November is here already and I'll have to accept it. No use in getting all stressed out because time is flying so fast. I'm gonna take each day as it comes, and try to be all zen about it ... Who knows, it might work .... ;-)
I'm off to a good start with AEDM. I finished my mosiac! Just need to get a hanging system in place and it's ready to go to the gallery.
Here are some details:
I've been making and painting the base for 3 more!
Last Friday I delivered the commission-painting to the lady that ordered it. I was very nervous, because, no matter how you try, you cannot get into someone's head to see the picture they have in there of what they want. It's always a guess, and I'd hate to let them pay for something they don't really want. But she loved it. It was a painting for her daughter, who lost her best friend unexpectedley half a year ago. It struck a chord with me, because I lost my sister so unexpectedly also half a year ago. It was a pleasure making the painting, despite the nerves. Here it is:
And lastly, last week I mentioned I didn't make any art at all during my family-visit to Belgium. But this week I was looking through my photographs and I realized I DID make something.
My eldest sister organized a big family-reunion while we were there, and I wanted to bring her a present. So I bought a nice plant and went in search of a pretty pot to put it in. A few hours before the party, so not much time. And all I could find was a black (!) pot ... Not my favorite colour at all!
But I had brought some paint markers with me (for all the art I was going to make ... ☺) so a light bulb went off in my head and I decided to make a doodle-pot out of it :-)
Let's just say that after a few hours I could hardly use my hand, but I finished the pot! Didn't get any good photos of it, this is the best one I have:
She loved it. Thought I had bought the pot like this ... Despite the hurry I enjoyed doing it and might make some for myself in the future. Or for others..... It really does make a unique gift.
Well, that's it for today. I'm linking this as always to Paint Party Friday, and also to Art Every Day Month. Can't believe I'll have to write on my blog again tomorrow .... Better start preparing some things then .... ;-)
Thank you so much for your visit and your lovely comments. So good to be back in the blogging world! Hope you'll enjoy your day, and will have a bright and joyful weekend! ♥ ♥ ♥

Getting into art again ....
Thanks so much for all the welcome back comments! So nice to know people actually missed my art ;-) I finally caught up with most of your blogs and I do admit I missed you too! The wonderful art, the inspiration everywhere, the warmth of the online art community ....
I'm finally getting into the swing of things again. I made a new lyricsgirl. Which is a very long time ago!
And started a new mosaic :
I'm getting myself mentally prepared to start the Art Every Day Month. I want to make a whole bunch of small artworks, like painted rocks, miniature-paintings, magnets etc ... and I think this challenge might be just what I need to get my butt kicked into action. Why don't you sign up too! Should be fun ... :-)
And I got a really nice surprise in the mail this week! I won Maria's giveaway from the 29 faces challenge!
Here's what she sent me:
Two ATC's and a wonderfully sweet card! Thanks so much Maria ♥
Well, I'll be back on Friday for the Paint Party and for the first day of AEDM! Hope to see you then! Thnx for visiting ♥

I'm back finally ... :-)
It seems like ages ago that I wrote something on this blog. When you go from 3 times a week to nothing in 5 weeks it takes some getting used to posting again. But after spending a wonderful month in Belgium with family and friends and almost no computer, I'm ready to get going again!
Believe it or not, I didn't draw or paint a single thing in those 4 weeks! There were too many other things to do, and now I notice, the longer you stop being creative, the harder it is to pick it up again. In the week since we've been back, I've been looking through my sketchbooks and artjournals without one single idea of what I was going to create. Big, BIG art block. I did do some art though. I worked on a commission for a painting that needs to be ready by tomorrow. I will share pictures of it later.
Sooo, without much to share today, I thought I'd share some pictures of my new calendar 2014. While I was in Belgium I ordered some copies and I'm pleased with the way the colours came out.
This year I chose to use parts of my paintings for the different months, with of course a different inspirational quote for each month ☺
This calendar can be ordered on Lulu, same as last year. It's also possible to see a preview of the entire calendar on there.
And, pure by coincidence, I came across a post about "Art Every Day Month", a challenge that starts on the 1st of November where you commit to creating something for every day of November. And I've decided to take it on! Maybe that'll fire up my creative juices. Have a look at their blog and join in! The more the merrier.....
I haven't been visiting many blogs lately due to my limited time on the computer, but I'll make up for it this weekend! I'm linking this to Paint Party Friday. Looking forward to seeing what you all created!
