Quick post

Uh-oh, it's way too late already and I should be in bed. So just a quick post today.

I'm determined to get a map-calendar ready for next year, so I finished another map painting :-)

And after a long deliberation I decided to join Inktober again. I've never been able to finish this challenge since it's really a very inconvenient time of the year, so I probably won't finish it this year either, but I'll do as many as I can.

I didn't feel like following the prompts, so I decided to stick to my own theme: one-line women (well, it's multiple lines actually, but it's completely done without lifting the pen from the paper) with quotes. Quotes about strength and empowerment. Here are the first 4 days:

Trying to be zen

The comments on last week's post offered me a great way to look at things differently, and while I'm still having a hard time with it, I'm learning to be content with what I was able to do, and not get so frustrated when I can't do everything I want to. So thanks all of you who gave me your thoughts and advice :-)

I played in my art journal this week. Guess I needed a break from the doodling ;-) Plus I'm thinking about participating in Inktober, and this is a bit of a practice start. Although I already know I won't be able to make an elaborate drawing each day, but that doesn't matter, I don't want to stress about it.

I also finished another mapface. I hope I'll be able to get enough of these done for a new calendar.
We'll see ....

Calendar doodle

Well, this week was a whirlwind of activity, and I hardly got any art done. Just one doodle for my calendar finished:

Oh well, some weeks are like that... I guess I'll just have to be okay with it and not get frustrated. I keep wondering though how other people do it. They have a job and they manage to journal daily. I so wish I could find a way to do that. Because it makes me feel good when I can paint or draw, and I get cranky when I don't find the time. If anybody has any tips: please share :-)

I'll just move on to the funnies and thinkies then, shall I ;-)

Doodles and maps

The week had flown by again! I managed to make another map-spread though. If I want to make another map-calendar this year I will need to get going on those. We'll see how far I'll come :-)

And I finished the first doodle that I want to use for my doodle-calendar. I made all the drawings on vacation already, now I "just" need to ink them in with doodles. Which takes more time than I realized ...
