Hi there!

Summer is drawing to a close, so I'm back on the internet again. Although I plan on spending less time here, I'm also curious as to what everyone's been up to :-)

I had such a great summer, enjoying the wonderful and exceptional weather, the long lazy days, reading books by my favorite authors, and yes, also drawing a bit. I didn't paint, I just didn't feel like it, and I even had to force myself to draw. Initially that is. Now I'm having fun trying to draw a little bit every day. I'm totally back into doodling. I'm planning on making a calendar with doodles, I already have 12 drawings, but they're all in different stages of progress, with none completely finished yet.

Here are some things that I did finish:

sketch ... (graphite and coloured pencils)

and another one in my art journal with gelli-printed pages (graphite)

And here's a doodle that I did finish (not for my calendar):

And that's all I have to show for now!

Except for the funnies and thinkies of course. Enjoy ;-)

Linking to Paint Party Friday, and hoping to see lots of people there!

Thanks for your visit! Wishing you much joy today, and a happy and relaxing weekend!
Take care ♥ ♥ ♥

Taking it easy ...

Another inky face and journalpage this week. I still don't have time to start a new painting, but I'm happy I manage at least to do some journaling :-)

Here's my inky weirdo:

I love making these weird faces and then looking for a well-fitting quote to go with them. When I have enough of these, I might make them into a little booklet. Or maybe use them for a calendar :-)

I also made a new journal page. I have a few of these journals that I always use for my leftover paint whenever I'm doing something. So every now and then I go through them and see if something jumps out at me. And in this following page I saw an image of a mother holding a child. And it reminded me of the many many children that are still without their mother or father after being separated at the border in the US, so I painted it and added a quote from "Les Miserables" that I felt fitted the situation quite well.

And that's it for this week! Well, actually for the rest of the summer, because I've decided to take a break from blogging to spend some more time with my family and outdoors. Take a digital break ;-) I'll be linking this to Paint Party Friday tomorrow, where quite a lot of people seem to be taking a summer break.

Just some funnies and thinkies left. I had to include a whole bunch of Trumps visit to Britain and Belgium (ughh!). I'm not going into this, it's just too much, but jeeezzz, what a disgusting selfish shit he is. Excuse the language ...

Enjoy :-)

- Amen -

I hope all of you are enjoying some lazy free time, getting your batteries charged and your creative juices flowing. Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back somewhere in August.

Take care ♥ ♥ ♥

Lazy summer days ....

It's late and I need to go to sleep. With these long days (it stays light till 10.30pm) I always forget what time it is. So this'll be a quick post :-)

I'm still searching for a new routine. Since the start of June I work 3 days a week, and the other 2 are supposed to be for painting, since I'm also part-time self-employed as an artist. But usually all the time gets taken up by household duties, paperwork and grocery shopping, and all those little time-consuming things that need to be done in a 4-person-household. I wonder when I'll ever find the time to start a new painting, let alone finish one ... :-/

I try not to beat myself up about it, so for now I keep to drawing and doing stuff in my journal.
Here's another inky lady:

And a journal page:

I'll be linking to Paint Party Friday again tomorrow. If you want to play along, have a look! Everyone is welcome!

Only thing left to do: my list  of funnies and thinkies :-)

Thanks so much for your visit! Wishing you a great weekend!
I'll be back next week ♥ ♥ ♥
