Busy week ....

This week was rather busy so I had very little time for art. Also, I have been spending wasting way too much time on the internet and on social media. Which is annoying but, well, it is what it is. I did do my weekly sketch :-)

She's looking rather sad, maybe the state of the world was getting to me a bit. I find it so depressing how lying has become the new normal. Whenever they don't like something or don't agree with something, they shout: fake news, or come up with all kinds of conspiracy theories. It makes me sick. And it seems as if it's taking over the world. I am so proud of those schoolkids in the US who are standing up for what they believe, and I so hope they can bring about some change.

Anyway, I did start a new painting! It only has 2 layers for now, but it's a start. For the first time since long I decided to work on a rectangular canvas. It feels a bit weird, I'm so used to working on square ones. Here's what I have so far:

And that's it for this week! Joining that wonderful group of artists over at Paint Party Friday again!

Before I go, here are some (much-needed) funnies:

Well, this is not really funny actually ....  :-\

And the ones to reflect on ...

Wishing you a beautiful day! Thanks for being here ♥ ♥ ♥

  2. nice start to the painting :) and your sketch does look a little sad, art is often a reflection of how we are feeling

  3. I just love your sketches they look so clean. That's a compliment. I agree about the kids from Florida. I am impressed that they are all so articulate and know exactly what they are saying. The fact that they have not taken time to grieve worries me. However, I think the fight is one way they are coping. It is a strange time in the US and I am hating every minute of it. I have never in my 66 years seen a government so lost, greedy, and hateful.

  7. I love your drawing and the piece you have started will, I'm sure, be wonderful. I have to agree; I'm sick with the state of the world.

Yes, your sketch does look sad. And yes, I believe what is taking place really shows up in our daily lives-this is so not healthy for all of us!
So, I am sending you positive thoughts and wishes,my friend!

  9. I'm always in awe of anyone who can draw a portrait! She is looking sad, but then on reflection it's understandable. Your canvas looks full of potential... I like the colour palette.
Thank you for the giggles and pause for though clips.
    Happy PPF to you :D

  10. Sometimes you just need to binge on social media:) Your girl does look a bit sad but she is so very lovely- gorgeous eyes! I'm sure your canvas is going to finish into another great and meaningful piece. Always good to end with a laugh or two - thanks! Happy PPF!

  11. I think your sketch is very beautiful, even if she's a bit sad. I hear you on the state of the world. It sends me into fits of depression too. It's so freaking tragic. But your funnies always help and they made me smile today. Thanks for sharing :)

  12. I don't blame your beautiful girl for looking a bit sad, Denise. There are a lot of reasons to be sad and worried. I know the next time you show us your painting it will be hardly recognizable after you've done your magic and made people or animals appear.
Thank you for the funnies and quotes!
    Happy weekend!

  22. Love your art, as always Denthe. And I really needed your funnies today. I am so with you on the state of the world. Trump brings out the worst in everyone. I will never understand why civilians need AR-15s. If you need that kind of a gun to hunt, you're not a hunter. It sickens me that so many young people had to go through such horror (again!). Thanks for posting the funnies (and not so funnies). They're always great. Big hugs to you Denthe. xo
