Almost July!

Another month is almost here, so I made a wallpaper for July!

You can download it here for your personal use :-)

I am still trying to find my own style with my artjournal/diary, but it's getting there. Here's the spread from last week:

And the way it started:

Still not too happy about my writing, but I'm trying to take my time and not write too fast. I decided to write with my left hand. I have this weird thing where I don't really have a dominant hand. I do some things with my right hand, like writing, and some things with my left hand, like drawing and painting. Whenever I write quotes in my art, I do it with my left hand, because for me it feels more like drawing than writing. So I hope by writing in this diary with my left hand it'll gradually become more "nice-looking".... We'll see ....

I also did another map-spread:

And that's it for this week!

As usual, I'll be sharing this with Paint Party Friday. Looking forward to seeing what everyone created this week!

And here are the funnies!

And the "wise" ones ....

Thanks so much for your visit! I'm wishing you a delightful day, and a wonderful weekend full of joy! See you next time ♥ ♥ ♥

  1. Hey Girl, you are just amazing. Writing with you left hand because it feel more like art? Brilliant. I am left handed and writing with my right hand is comical at best. Your art is so inspiring and I love the download thank you. Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. Love your journal page! It is unique for sure and I like the variety (and that left handed printing).
What a gift! I wish I could just change hands when my right one wasnt behaving but I am stuck with it. Happy PPF

  4. Wonderful journal art! I think your page is lovely with the days of the week. I don't tend to write in my art journals, they're more like sketchbooks so I always admire the ones with writing and wish I could have a record of time passing like that. The new map person is beautiful! :)

  5. I just signed up for Sketchbook Skool's lettering Klass....I thought it might help my chicken scratch become less objectionable.....we'll see. (Maybe it would have been better/cheaper to just write with my other hand! LOL ) LOVE your latest map face...and as always thanks for the funnies and 'wise' ones!

  7. Great journal pages. I've had a hard time adjusting to journaling and I'm not sure I've found my style yet. Your map face is wonderful, Denise, and all the writing you do is admirable, I think. Your extras/funnies really touched me. Now that I AM old, I wish I had paid more attention and given more understanding to my parents. What you quote is really worth all young people's attention. Thanks for sharing.

  9. That is interesting about your right and left hand and that in art you use your left to write because it is in your journal. Some people do art with their non-dominant hand for interest.

I enjoyed your pieces and pages, as always.

  10. huh interesting about which hand does what for you, I think we have a hand we prefer to use for main things but we all could prob learn to use the other hand for somethings if we practiced at it

  11. Wonderful art as always. Your writing on your map girls is gorgeous...is it different than in your journal? Is it a different process? Just curious! Always love your passion and wisdom in your art and funnies!!

    1. Well, it's a bit different since I'm writing with my non-dominant hand. At least, as far as I have a non-dominant hand. For writing, and most other stuff, my dominant hand is the right hand, but I can't draw or paint or use scissors with my right hand. For those activities I have to use my left hand. I have taught myself however to also write with my left hand, but I can't do it fast. So when I have to take notes or something I always use my right hand. Whenever I use quotes in my art, I use my left hand, because I draw it rather than write it. But when I write in cursive (like in the above spread the words "weakness, courage, delicate", I have to use my right hand again, since I can't do that with my left. There's a lot of hand-switching going on when I do stuff ;-) So when I use my left hand in my journal, I have to more or less print the words because the cursive is too hard or looks strange with my left. It takes a bit of practice. It's weird, I know, and hard to explain, but that's just me ... ;-)

I love your style in your journal, and I find your written words to be done so very well. It's interesting reading how you can use both hands for various things.
